An interactive motion-editing method for human animation

چکیده
This paper presents an interactive motion-editing method for human animation. Through sketches, users are able to create a 3D skeleton model without any constraints. Then motion retargeting is used to adapt the original motion to the model obtained from the sketches. For supporting expression of intention, our method provides users with direct manipulation of the key parts of the model and uses inverse kinematics to update the gesture. Finally, a new motion is created by smoothly propagating the motion displacement to neighbour frames by linear interpolation. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Interactive elastic motion editing through space-time position constraints
We present an intuitive and interactive approach for motion editing through spacetime constraints on positions. Given an input motion of an elastic body, our approach enables the user to interactively edit node positions in order to alter and fine-tune the motion. We formulate our motion editing as an optimization problem with dynamics constraints to enforce a physically-plausible result. Throu...
متن کاملMotion Pattern Encapsulation for Data-Driven Constraint-Based Motion Editing
The growth of motion capture systems have contributed to the proliferation of human motion database, mainly because human motion is important in many applications, ranging from games entertainment and films to sports and medicine. However, the captured motions normally attend specific needs. As an effort for adapting and reusing captured human motions in new tasks and environments and improving...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal coupling with the 3D+t motion Laplacian
Motion editing requires the preservation of spatial and temporal information of the motion. During editing, this information should be preserved at best. We propose a new representation of the motion based on the Laplacian expression of a 3D+t graph: the set of connected graphs given by the skeleton over time. Through this Laplacian representation of the motion, we propose an application which ...
متن کاملCharacter contact re-positioning under large environment deformation
Character animation based on motion capture provides intrinsically plausible results, but lacks the flexibility of procedural methods. Motion editing methods partially address this limitation by adapting the animation to small deformations of the environment. We extend one such method, the so-called relationship descriptors, to tackle the issue of motion editing under large environment deformat...
متن کاملStyle components
We propose a novel method for interactive editing of motion data based on motion decomposition. Our method employs Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to separate motion data into visually meaningful components called style components. The user then interactively identifies suitable style components and manipulates them based on a proposed set of operations. In particular, the user can transfe...
